Forging & annealing
Forging & annealing
CNC turning & grinding
CNC turning & grinding
01
Selection of raw materials
SAE 52100 steel from reputed manufacturers, conforming to international standards, used for races and rolling elements. Cages are produced from CRC material and brass to international specification.
02
Quality check
The chemistry of the SAE 52100 steel is checked, tested and verified through metallurgical testing performed by expert metallurgists before manufacturing commences.
03
Forging & annealing
Material is heated by electric induction and impact rolled to shape. Spheroidize annealing in a SCADA-controlled electric furnace improves microstructure, ductility and toughness.
04
CNC turning
Forged material is turned on automatic CNC machines known for reliable operation and high productivity on complex components held to the highest degree of accuracy.
05
Heat treatment
Rings and rollers are quenched in molten salt, hardened to 60 ± 2 HRC, then tempered and hardness tested for dimensional stability and the required microstructure.
06
Grinding
Four stages — face grinding, OD grinding, track grinding and ID grinding with an electronic in-process measuring system controlling size variation.
07
Super finishing
Roughness average on the track is reduced using honing and lapping machines, maintaining the Ra value that defines a superfinished bearing component.
08
Inspection
All races and rollers are 100% dimensionally and visually checked against requirement.
09
Cleaning & assembly
Components are washed in an automatic washing machine to clear remaining dirt and dust, after which the bearings are assembled.
10
Final inspection
Assembled bearings are inspected to international standards and specifications, or to customer requirements.
11
Packing
Bearings are washed, rust preventive oil is applied by automatic spraying, then wrapped in plastic, boxed individually and packed into master cartons.
